About Us!

If you are looking for tasteful accommodation, scenic views, and a relaxed informal setting come to Lakeview Escape! We think you will enjoy our treasure in Muskoka as much as our family does.

The original resort was built in the 1930’s as a post-depression project under the name Lakeland Lodge. At that time, the resort included a main lodge with dining facilities and a retail store, housekeeping cottages and individual rooms.

The old lodge and all of the white road side cottages were torn down in the late 1980’s and the name was changed to Cedarwood. At that time, it was open throughout the year, catering to snowmobilers in the winter and seasonal guests and contractors during the other 3 seasons.

In 1998, the remaining legacy cottages were torn down and replaced with pine log cottages that feature cathedral ceilings and an open concept design.

In 2016, the property was purchased by the Ecclestone Family and the name was changed to Lakeview Escape. Our family history in the area dates back to the late 1800’s and we are proud to continue the legacy of business owners and operators within the community.

Lakeview is centrally located in the heart of Muskoka between Bracebridge and Port Carling.  This provides many options for both casual and fine dining, shopping, unique art galleries, and world-class golf.
